2013 Houston Fine Art Fair

Deborah Colton Gallery will be exhibiting for its third consecutive year since the origin of the Houston Fine Art Fair. Artists exhibited are New York based success story, Harif Guzman, Bert L. Long Jr., in conjunction with his film, and Independent Film Maker, poet, artist, Jonas Mekas.

"Bert" is a documentary about the beloved Houston artist Bert L. Long, Jr. and will be shown at HFAF in cooperation with the Houston Museum of African Ameriacan Culture. The hour-long documentary explores the life and art of the esteemed Rome Prize winner, Bert L. Long, Jr. as seen through the eyes of collectors, colleagues, gallerists, and friends. Narrated by artist John Alexander, the film reflects on the long and storied career as told by admirers such as Valerie Cassel Oliver, Senior Curator at the Contemporary Arts Museum Houston: Leslie King Hammond, Founding Director of the Maryland Institute College of Art Center for Race and Culture; Peter Marzio, the late Director of the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston; Rick Lowe and Floyd Newsum of Project Row Houses; as well as artists and collectors such as David McGee, Jesse Lott, Dick DeGuerin, and Marilyn Oshman.

 

ArtAspen 2013 Art Fair
August 2, 2013 to August 4, 2013

After many successful projects last summer in Aspen, Colorado, Deborah Colton Gallery will feature for the second year internationally acclaimed. Russian artist, Oleg Dou, and American artist, David Graeve, whose installations were throughout the campus of the AspenInstitute during the 2012 Aspen Ideas Festival and who will have his photographic spheres installed over the ArtAspen VIP Lounge this year. Making her ArtAspen debut will be Deborah Trevino Porter with her Journey series. The 2013 ArtAspen Art Fair is from August 2 to August 4, 2013, with an Opening Night Preview Reception on Thursday evening, August 1st.

2013 Paris Photo Los Angeles
April 25, 2013 to April 28, 2013

The first U.S. Edition of the famous Paris Photo will feature 80 international exhibitor who have been carefully selected. Paris Photo Los Angeles will be held at Paramount Picture Studios.

Deborah Colton Gallery will be exhibiting a section of videos and still framed photographs by Jonas Mekas.

2012 Houston Fine Art Fair

Deborah Colton Gallery is pleased to be included as an Exhibitor at the 2012 Houston Fine Art Fair. The Gallery will feature works of art from internationally acclaimed Russian artists Oleg Dou and Olga Tobreluts, Iranian-American artist Soody Sharifi and works from American artists Matthew Grabelsky and David Graeve. It is with this dynamic multi-cultural group of artists that Deborah Colton Gallery represents the internationally diverse spirit of the Houston Fine Art Fair and Houston.

The second annual Houston Fine Art Fair returns for an eagerly awaited encore. Last year, 10,500 enthusiastic art lovers explored the offerings of 83 dealers. As the first ever fine art fair in Houston, it blew the cover off the country’s best-kept secret. With the rousing success in show attendance and impressive art sales, Houston is now becoming recognized as the new cultural gem of the US – home to major museums, a thriving gallery scene and a strong base of passionate collectors and patrons.

ArtAspen 2012 Art Fair
August 2, 2012 to August 5, 2012

Deborah Colton Gallery will be an Exhibitor at the 2012 ArtAspen Art Fair after participation in the Aspen Ideas Festival at the Aspen Institute this summer also.

The third annual ArtAspen features only 30 select art dealers. This intimate setting is ideal for both art dealers and fairgoers to meet and exchange ideas while experiencing the most dynamic marketplace for contemporary art.

Featured artist David Graeve will be exhibiting his photo-sphere sculptures in a site-specific installation in ArtAspen's public space in addition to the Deborah Colton Gallery Booth displaying his fused glass sculptures.

Also featured is internationally acclaimed Russian artist, Oleg Dou who will exhibit work from his "Sketches" and "Toystory" Series.
